The issue of land consumption due to urban and infrastructural expansion is becoming increasingly important in the context of environmental sustainability and urban and regional planning. The negative impacts of land consumption are well known by scientists.  Also politicians highlight the urgent need to curb the phenomenon of urban sprawl and the progressive cementing of the territory, which cause the loss, often irreversible, of a precious and limited environmental resource.
At national level, ISPRA has defined and implemented in partnership with the National Environmental Protection System, a program of monitoring and evaluation of land consumption that makes use of accurate data provided by ISRPA, ARPA and APPA, and of the high resolution cartography realized under the Copernicus program.
The conference aims to provide an occasion of critical reflection, updating and discussion on the current ability to assess the status of the territory at national level. It will also be the occasion to present the "Report on land consumption in Italy - edition 2014", in which are reported data and updated estimates, as well as insights on the types of land consumption and on specific geographical areas.
It will also be the occasion to present the main legislative initiatives in progress aimed at limiting the consumption of land.
At the entrance you will be asked a valid id document.
Jacket required for men.
