The analysis of fungal communities in soils interested by fire as a contribution to an environmental management

Seminar

Rome, April 20, ISPRA, Via Curtatone 3 Different events affect the availability of resources and the structure of the system, with an impact on diversity of soil biocoenosis. Fire is a key agent of disturbance in Mediterranean environment, with direct and indirect effects on components of topsoil and subsoil.
The fire may alter the composition and functioning of fungal communities, with a competitive advantage for some of its components.
Understanding the mechanisms linking the dynamics of fungal communities and the pattern of diversity to ecosystem processes is the tool for an environmental recovery.
The seminar will be held by Prof. A.M. Persiani, University of Rome "La Sapienza".
