Bilateral agreement between the ISPRA and the Slovenian Authority Safety Administration (SNSA) on cooperation for nuclear safety and response to emergencies

Today in Trieste there was a bilateral meeting between the ISPRA and the SNSA (Slovenian Nuclear Safety Administration), under the agreement in place between the two administrations. The ISPRA delegation was led by the DG, Mr. Stefano Laporta, and the Slovenian Director of SNSA, Mr. Andrej Stritar.

The meeting was attended, as observers, the Slovenian Consulate, ARPA Friuli-Venezia-Giulia, represented by the DG mr. Luca Marchesi, and delegates of the Regional Civil Protection.

During the meeting there was  an information exchange, concerning the Italian regulatory activities on the safety of decommissioning of nuclear installations and the management of radioactive waste and, for Slovenia, on safety aspects of the central Krsko.

The Slovenian authorities has presented the complex of System actions developed  in recent years, following Fukushima, in order to increase the safety margins, even in the face of extreme natural events, including the earthquake, so as ruled by the National Action Plans established under the stress tests carried out at European level from 2012 to current days.
