Predictive uncertainty and tide forecast

ISPRA and CNR-ISMAR face the theme of the reliability of tide forecasts in Venice and across the Northern Adriatic. This is a priority issue for the aspects related to flood risks management.

Important improvements  in recent years have been achieved in the sector of modelling performance both with the introduction of data-assimilation methods and implementation of supercalculating techniques in simulation.

The aim of the event is to stimulate a reflection on both the status of art and on the new possibilities that can be opened through the first tests developed by applying predictive uncertainty techniques already experienced successfully in the field of hydrology.
