Participation to the 41st Consultative Meeting of the Contracting Parties to the Convention on the Prevention of Marine Pollution by Dumping of Wastes and Other Matter

From 7 to 11 October the 41st Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Convention and the 13th Conference of the Contracting Parties to the Protocol were held in London at the headquarters of the IMO (International Maritime Organization) and two ISPRA experts participated in the conference alongside the Italian delegation, the representative of the Harbor Master's Office and the permanent representative at the Italian Embassy in London.

During this meeting the following topics, among other, were discussed: the approval of specific guidelines for the assessment of platforms and other man-made structures at sea; the disposal of carbon dioxide streams into sub-sea-bed geological formations; the disposal of fibreglass vessels, and marine litter and microplastics.
