The project aims to recover a species declared extinct in the wild in Italy, contributing to the preserve the Italian biodiversity and to protect the natural landscape; provide a highly strategic contribution to the reintroduction in nature of the partridge in Europe, also for the benefit of other endangered species, with consequent advantages for related sectors such as tourism, quality agro-food production and canine breeding. These are the objectives of Life Perdix, the European project that aims at the recovery of Italic partridges through genetic selection and the reintroduction of a viable population in the Valle del Mezzano, carried out with the contribution of the European Union Life instrument and the Natura 2000 network, which Tuesday 26 November will be presented in Ferrara in Estense Castle.
