LIFE MONZA - Methodologies fOr Noise low emission Zones introduction And management

ISPRA is the leader project of the LIFE MONZA (Methodologies fOr Noise low emission Zones introduction And management), which aims implement and evaluate a new methodology for noise management within a Low Emission Zone (LEZ). The project will tested in the Italian city of Monza, partner project together with Università degli Studi di Firenze e alla Società di Ingegneria Vie.En.Ro.Se.This methodology of noise pollution reduction should also contribute to the lowering of air pollutant emissions. Measures will include traffic calming, use of low-noise road surfaces and promotion of lifestyle changes, for example to encourage cycling. The project’s approach will be replicable and will contribute to the implementation of the EU Environmental Noise Directive.

 

 

The project has been accepted for co-financing under the program LIFE Environment and Resource efficiency 2015; it started  September 1, 2016 and is expected to be concluded on  June 30, 2020.
