ReNDiS - Repertory of mitigation measures for National SoilProtection

Since 2000, the Italian Ministry for the Environment (MATTM) entrusted ISPRA the task of monitoring the programmes of emergency measures to reduce hydogeological risk, according to DL 180/98 ("Sarno Decree"). As a part of this activity, ISPRA developed the project "Repertory of mitigation measures for National Soil Protection (ReNDiS)" that aims at collecting into a database the mitigation measures against floods and landslides in order to making available to all the stakeholders involved in this theme, an helpful tool that provides a constantly updated picture of the works and the committed resources.
The Repertory consists of an "information system" built by a web interface, developed to share and publish collected data on the web. Through the interface ReNDiS-web it is possible to view the actions that have been taken within a specific geographical area and query the database, obtaining the corresponding statistical reports on a range of features, or the typological and quantitative data.
Currently the ReNDIS data are limited to projects funded by MATTM with plans and programs  focused on the most urgent measures to reduce landslide and flood risks. The future goal will be to include the further plans funded by other instruments (regional laws, ordinances, etc..).
The interface structure has been provided with access to different types of users. A partial set of information is available for public consultation (“basic” users); the public authorities involved in the plans and programs (“registered” users) can also access all the information concerning “their” own works and can bring partial modification of data. The status of system administrators are given to institutions owners of primary archives, for the part of their competence.
Data shared and integrated  in ReNDiS can improve the effectiveness of monitoring and planning of the actions against floods and landslides, and also develop new environmental indicators to be used in natural risks reporting.
