Multiple use of forests. Sustainable production of fibers, fabrics and natural dyes in Argentina

In February 2017, the Italian National Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, ISPRA, and the National University of Córdoba, Argentina, signed an agreement which committed the parties to scientific cooperation.

From the common interests of both Institutions on sustainable management of natural resources, in particular within the agricultural and forestry sectors, a detailed report on sustainable production of fibers, fabrics and natural dyes in Argentina has been prepared by researchers of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Córdoba.

Although the Argentinian context is sometimes profoundly different from the Italian one, the techniques and products used in dyeing of natural fibres with natural dyes could in many cases be applied in Europe.
