Geological 3D modelling and geopotentials of the central Po Plain (GeoMol Project)

The Report describes the activities carried out by ISPRA, Regione Lombardia and Regione Emilia Romagna, in the framework of the European Project GeoMol, for the construction of a geological 3d model and a temperature model, of a wide area located in the central Po Plain.

The geological knowledge of the subsurface in a wide flat area, densely populated, represents a basic tool to support planning policies for a sustainable use of the natural resources. The report summarizes the workflow adopted for the data harmonization and the geological 3d model construction, and the techniques for subsurface temperature data analysis and their elaboration.

The results presented in the Report include the geological 3d model, the temperature model, the geological and geothematic 3D model-derived maps, in addition the analysis and improvement of the seismotectonic and seismogenic sources knowledge in the Pilot Area.
