Intercomparison on the taxonomic identification of benthic diatoms

The Environmental Agencies of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Lombardy, CISBA (Italian Centre for Environmental Biology Studies), in collaboration with ISPRA (Italian Institute for Environmental Protection) and ASSOARPA, have organized an interlaboratory comparison aimed at assessing the performance of the participating laboratories in the activity of taxonomic identification of benthic diatoms.  Participation in these exercises makes it possible to ensure a path of quality assurance of the data produced by different laboratories that also responds to the requests for comparability dictated by Directive 2000/60/EC.
