Microfacies and microfossils of the Mesozoic carbonate successions of Latium and Abruzzi - Late Triassic - Jurassic

It is a great pleasure to present this new Atlas which, added to the previous one related to the Cretaceous, completes the work of decades of study and research activities. It is, also in this case, an iconographic volume that collects and illustrates a large amount of data on the most significant microfossils with their respective microfacies from the marine carbonate sediments of the Triassic and Jurassic ages of the Central Apennines, with its 149 tables organized in chronostratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental order, this volume is intended to be an important guide for the peculiar knowledge of platform environments Apennine carbonate, through the microfossils that characterize them analyzed in thin section. The abundant illustrated material should facilitate the microscopic analysis of microfacies and thus allow a rapid biostratigraphic and palaeoenvironmental classification of the different charcoal units emerging in the Apennines and can be a valuable additional working tool for experts in the field as well as for everyone else has the need or the desire to deepen the basic knowledge of the geology of Central Italy.
