The operations of oil recovery from the Costa Concordia came to an end. From an environmental point of view, fuel and lubricating oils are potential pollutants of particular concern for their detrimental effects on marine ecosystems when spilled at sea. Besides the initial quantities are very high (about 2,200 m3) and the wreck lies in an area of high environmental value.
