Proceedings of the 2011 March 23th meeting on toxic algae “Study and comparison day on: Ostreopsis ovata algal blooms along the Italians coasts”, promoted and organized yearly by ISPRA. This work provides an overview on monitoring results for the year 2010 carried out by ARPAs and other research institutes and on the latest genetic and ecologic findings. Moreover a new proposal to evaluate the influence of environmental conditions on the presence and concentration values of Ostreopsis ovata, also in the light of the Marine Strategy Directive (2008/56/EC), is presented.
