The protection of species of wild flora and fauna: regional legislative framework

The work offers an overview of all the laws in force in Italy concerning the protection of flora and wildlife, with particular attention to those within the region. The comparison of existing legislation with the current level of knowledge consistency, distribution and threat level of plant and animal species, may be useful to highlight possible problems, deficiencies and discrepancies, and therefore to provide elements for improving the effectiveness in terms of environmental protection.
