The international year focus on the young scientists

Be held in Beijing October 25 to 28, 2009 the first International Congress of young scientists and experts in the geosciences. The initiative, called YES Congress, was strongly supported by Italy through the National Commission for the International Year of Earth Planet. The meeting in Beijing will have, among others, the following objectives:

• To give young scientists the opportunity to propose their own solutions to global challenges of the earth sciences on the issues of the International Year of Planet Earth (energy, water, climate change , etc.)
• Encourage dialogue between young scientists of the earth of all world to lay the foundations for future cooperation
• build an international network of young professionals and researchers in various disciplines of earth sciences
• building a better future for the new generations of geoscientists, including in terms of job opportunities, explaining the important role of geosciences in the management of the major problems of modern society
