Ispra's role

The Geological Survey of Italy, established in Ispra, is the promoter of the International Year of Earth Planet for the Italian territory. Recognizing the importance of that year, Italian government has developed a specific National Commission, with a decree of the Italian Ministry of Environment and Protection land (n. 148/60 -13 march 2007).
The Commission is coordinated by a technical-scientific commitee, lead by director of the Geological Survey of Italy and all the bodies that work in the Earth Sciences field, such as ISPRA, UNESCO, CNR, Civil Protection Department , ENEA, National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophisic, National Institute of Geophisic and Vulcanology.
