ACES

The project aims to implement the Water and Health Protocol and to develop a risk assessment methodology for bathing waters, based on prevention criteria and a One Health perspective. In practice, it promotes the safe use of areas for recreational purposes. The project began in November 2023 with the definition of the investigation protocol and the selection of the study areas on which the risk analysis will be based.

Bioplast4safe

Biomonitoring of biodegradable micro and nanoplastics: from the environment to humans in a one health perspective
The BioPlast4Safe Project is financed, from 2023 to 2026, by the National Plan for Complementary Investments (PNC) to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), as part of Investment 1.4 dedicated to the promotion and financing of applied research with multidisciplinary approaches in specific areas of health-environment-climate intervention, of which the Ministry of Health, General Directorate of Health Prevention is the implementing body.

CAP-Fish

The project is positioned at the critical intersection of environment, food, and health, recognizing that food safety is intrinsically linked to the environmental quality of production areas. The presence of environmental contaminants in seafood has been a public health priority for decades.

The PNC project “Health and equity co-benefits in support of climate change response plans in Italy” aims to provide useful guidance for achieving international sustainable development targets and to support mitigation and adaptation policies for climate change in Italian cities. It promotes a health- and equity-centered approach in the planning of local policies and interventions, based on the direct and indirect co-benefits for human health and on the reduction of social and gender inequalities.

Outdoor air and health: an integrated atlas to support decision-making and research for healthier, more inclusive, safer, more resilient, and sustainable environments

ISPRA collaborates with DEP Lazio as a subcontractor, under an agreement aimed at technical and scientific cooperation between the parties for the development of modeling activities

Project INTiERIM

European sustainable development strategies have long stressed the need for a reduction in emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), also reaffirmed in the recent 7th European Environmental Action Program. From the awareness that it is desirable and necessary to fill the knowledge gaps in the approaches and methodological tools for the prevention and assessment of indoor environmental pollution and to ensure that these aspects can be effectively integrated into environmental policies that can become or already are key tools for the reduction of VOCs such as ECOLABEL and EMAS Scheme, LCA procedure, REACH, energy efficiency, a study project called INTìERIM “INTegrating ìndoor voc Emission Risk Management” was developed in ISPRA in 2014.
