Report on municipal waste 2024 - Summary data
The Municipal Waste Report, now in its twenty-seventh edition, with data updated to 2024 on the production, separate waste collection, management, and import/export flows of urban waste and packaging at the national, regional, and provincial levels, was developed by ISPRA's National Waste and Circular Economy Center, with the contribution of local environmental agencies. It offers a comprehensive and objective framework to support legislators in guiding policies and interventions, monitoring their effectiveness, and introducing any corrective measures.

Municipal Waste Report - edition 2024
The Municipal Waste Report is the result of complex effort of data collection, analysis and processing by ISPRA's National Waste and Circular Economy Centre, with the support of regional and provincial Environmental Protection Agencies. Its purpose is to provide an objective, timely and constantly updated information framework to support legislators in orienting appropriate policies and interventions, monitoring their effectiveness, and introducing corrective measures if necessary.

Riverine floating macrolitter: the Italian national monitoring programme within the Marine Strategy
Most marine litter originates on land, disperses into the environment, and is transported via rivers into the seas. As part of the monitoring programs under the Marine Strategy Directive, which provides a framework for community action in marine environmental policy, an Operational Agreement between the Ministry of the Environment (MASE) and ISPRA included a monitoring program on floating macro-litter in 12 Italian rivers at survey stations near their mouths.

EU Ecolabel indoor cleaning services in Italy: analysis, strong points and synergies with minimum environmental criteria (CAM)
On 2 May 2018 the Commission Decision 2018/680/EU establishing the criteria for awarding the EU Ecolabel to indoor cleaning services entered into force. Since then, 175 companies in this sector have been certified in Italy, accounting for 85% of all cleaning service licences issued in the EU. Behind this success is also the CAM issued in January 2021.
