“Third issue of the SoED report since 2005 and very little has changed in the Mediterranean” the Plan Bleu states

Despite the actions taken by the Barcelona Convention over more than 40 years, the future of the Mediterranean is at a critical point. Damage to ecosystems that can compromise human well-being risks becoming irreversible. ISPRA, as the INFO / RAC Centre of UNEP MAP (Mediterranean Action Plan), focuses on the State of the Environment and Development in the Mediterranean (SoED) published by Plan Bleu and UNEP / MAP.

The environmental dimension in the mediterranean diet as a model of sustainable feeding

On November 16 the Mediterranean Diet will celebrate 10 years of recognition as a cultural heritage by UNESCO. To celebrate this anniversary, the Ministry of the Environment together with the Italian National Commission for Unesco, has planned a calendar of activities that will be presented on the same day at 9.30 coordinated by the journalist Donatella Bianchi and with a debate between Ministers and members of the academy word. Presentation of the Report 2020 on the environmental performance of cities

How to restart after a global emergency? It will be necessary to plan courageously towards a more sustainable and smart future, using the Recovery Plan to launch a true Green New Deal made in Italy. Cities and Mayors are the main actor of this change. These are the topics of the 27th edition of Ecosistema Urbano, the annual report by Legambiente on the environmental livability of the provincial municipalities, edited in cooperation with Ambiente Italia and Il Sole 24 ore.

Ecomondo 2020

Ecomondo is one of the most leading event in Europe for the new models of circular economy. An international exhibition with an innovative format that brings together all sectors of the circular economy in a single platform: from material and energy recovery to sustainable development. Due to the health emergency, Ecomondo will be held on the digital platform, extending the appointment to two weeks: the double digital green week.
To facilitate the meeting between supply and demand, the platform will be active until November 15: two weeks of B2B meetings, networking and seminars, where the green economy community will be able to create global relationships within a virtual app.
From Tuesday 3 November it is possible to participate in all the events of the schedule until 11.59 pm on November 15.

The application of SSAM (Spatial Sustainable Assessment Model) in the local planning for sustainable development

The conference is organized as part of the formulation process of the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy of Umbria to promote a comparison between regional and national institutions on the progress of the activities, the indicators for monitoring the strategies objectives, the tools available for the integrated (environmental, economic and social) analysis of the expected and realized results, and perspectives of local planning with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.

The landscape as a driving force for the development of a different society twenty years after the European Landscape Convention

The event , after20 years after the European Landscape Convention, aims to analyze the reflections of sector experts. The European Landscape Convention was adopted by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg in July 2000 and was opened for signature by the member states in Florence on 20 October 2000. Agreement signed between ISPRA and Union Energy for Mobility-unem

Ispra and Unem have signed an agreement of cooperation to promote environmental sustainability and technology innovation in the sector of remediation and ecosystem requalification. 
The collaborative activities will take place with the exchange of SNPA experiences and the oil sector for environmental sustainability, the joint experimentation in the field of new sampling or sustainable remediation technologies and common training activities on environmental protection.

National conference on climate 2000: a roadmap for Italy

The National Climate Conference, to be held from 13 to 16 October, is the most important event of the year of Italy for climate, an initiative promoted by  Sustainable Development Foundation and by a group of companies in preparation of COP26, with the patronage of the Ministry of the Environment, ENEA and ISPRA, in collaboration with Regeneration 20 | 30, with the partnership of ANSA and with the support of SapereAmbiente, aims to become a reference event on the performance of Italy related to climate objectives.

Climate and energy in the Green Deal to rebuild Italy

The Green Deal must be the main pillar of the Next Generation Eu for Italy. It can give great impetus to employment, with attention to industrial conversion processes and workers and young people training.  The recovery and resilience plan must constitute the conditioning and guiding element of the recovery and rebuild Italy, stimulating the abandonment of the business as usual model, which has aggravated inequalities worldwide.

The ASviS Working Group on Goals 7-13 has chosen to identify possible ways to implement the Green Deal, both at national and European level, promoting the energy transition and combat against climate change.

Natural capital accounting: mainstreaming biodiversity conservation into sustainable development policies

Expert meeting - October 6 2020, Rome - ISPRA Partner Event EU Green Week (19-22 october 2020) -  Partner Event Italian Festival of Sustainable Development ASviS (22 september - 8 october 2020) 
Natural capital is a significant component of the national wealth. Our economic prosperity and well-being depend on the good state of natural capital: biodiversity and ecosystems provide food, raw materials, medicines, recreational activities and well-being, air and water purification, contribute to climate regulation, pollinate and fertilize crops and much more. Natural Capital Accounting (NCA) is a strategic tool to strengthen the integration of the ecosystem services value into reporting systems and policies. In order to advance the knowledge agenda on NCA and identify the needs for its effective implementation in Italy, institutions, Academia and major Italian and international stakeholders will discuss the measurement and assessment processes that represent its fundamental pillars. This event organized by ISPRA under the banner of networking and dialogue has received the accreditation of the European Commission as Partner Event of the EU Green Week 2020 on European environmental policies focused on nature and biodiversity this year and of AsviS as Partner Event of the Sustainable Development Festival, the most importan Italian initiative to raise awareness and to mobilise citizens, companies associations and institutions on economic , social and environmental sustainability.

Sustainable Development Festival 2020

The festival of Sustainable Development promoted by ASvIS will be held in the whole Italy from 22 September to 8 October. In compliance with the measures ruled by the Government to deal with the Coronavirus emergency, the Festival is renewed in its format, articulating with traditional events in attendance and online. All the stakeholders, public or private citizens, interested in participating and contributing for a sustainable future, can propose an event to be included in the initiatives

Sustainability and Report SDGs 2020: statistics for our future

On June 18, Istat is organizing a webinar to talk about sustainability and statistics for the future, on the occasion of the presentation of the third edition of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Report, adopted with the 2030 Agenda by the Member States of the United Nations. The SDGs 2020 report illustrates, through a system of statistical measures and, experimentally, with three new indicators, the progress made by Italy in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Although the Report mainly contains information updated to 2019, efforts have also been made to consider the impact of Covid-19. The general director of Ispra, Alessandro Bratti, will join the webinar.

Environment, health and sustainable societies: discovering the connections

Presentation of the SOER 2020, Environmental Data Yearbook and System Reports

The next 3 June, in video streaming with the Italian PM Giuseppe Conte, and David Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, will be presented the three reports dedicated to the environmental situation in Europe and in Italy: the SOER 2020 (State of the Environment Report), the Environmental Data Yearbook 2019 which shows the state of the environment in Italy and the System Report which presents regional experiences.
