DESCRIPTION:On 18 October 2013 will be held in Rome\, at the Sala Tirreno 
 of Region Lazio headquarters\, a national conference on the enhancement of
  forest biomass for energy purposes. The conference\, organized by ISPRA i
 n collaboration with the Region Lazio\, aims to present the results of the
  EU project Proforbiomed (which ISPRA participates as a partner)\, funded 
 under the European program of social cohesion.\nThe conference presents th
 e diversity of Lazio's forest resources\, their potential to produce energ
 y and development for rural populations\, express proposals for rural deve
 lopment through the use of a renewable and carbon neutral energy source\, 
 making available to other regional and local institutions the method devel
 oped and also discuss the role of bioenergy in the context of internationa
 l agreements in matters related to energy and climate
