The climate crisis

On 13 July ISPRA is organizing an in-depth day dedicated to climate change. Authoritative experts from national and international organizations will be interviewed who will answer questions on the main causes of the global climate crisis. Thanks to their skills, the scenarios that lie ahead will be outlined. Presentation of the National Report “Land consumption, territorial dynamics and ecosystem services. Edition 2022"

On July 26 it will be presented the 2022 edition of the Report "Land consumption, territorial dynamics and ecosystem services" by the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA) . The Report, together with the cartography and the databases of indicators available for each Italian municipality, provides the updated picture of the processes of transformation of the land cover and allows to evaluate the degradation of the territory and the impact of land consumption, urbanization. and infrastructure on the landscape and ecosystem services. Exhibition on ISPRA Geological and Historical Collections

Press Conference to present the 2022 program of the Museum of Civilizations of Rome Tuesday 19 July, from 11:00 to 12:30, the Museum of Civilizations will present the program of 2022 activities which provides for the progressive rearrangement of some collections, as well as the start of long-term research projects, seminars, workshops, new productions and inter-institutional collaborations with national and international partners. During the press conference, will be presented the Animals, Plants, Rocks and Minerals> Towards a Multispecies Museum. The ISPRA geo-paleontology and litho-mineralogy collections and the inauguration appointment, scheduled at the Museum of Civilization, Science Hall, has been announced. The exhibition constitutes the first chapter of the progressive musealization of the prestigious Paleontological, Litho-mineralogical and Historical Collections of the Geological Service, granted by ISPRA on a multi-year loan to the Museum of Civilizations following a collaboration agreement signed by the two bodies. Final Conference of the LIFE project Lagoon Refresh

Next 7 July it will be held the Final Conference of the LIFE Project Lagoon Refresh  which had among its targets the diversion of a freshwater flow from the Sile river into the lagoon, necessary for recreation of the typical salt gradient of buffer areas between lagoon and mainland and for restoration of the reedbed habitat and its biodiversity. The project, coordinated by ISPRA, involved the Veneto Region, the Triveneto Public Works Authority, the Ca 'Foscari University of Venice and IPROS as associated partners.

Presentation of the SNPA Report "Cities in transition: the Italian capitals towards environmental sustainability"

Online event for the presentation of the Report of the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA) "Cities in transition: the Italian capitals towards environmental sustainability" which proposes, for the first time, a transversal reading of the quality of the urban environment through three different interpretative keys - livability, circularity and resilience to climate change - evaluating its evolution in recent years. The event will be an opportunity to present the products realized, the evaluation methodology adopted and the main results emerged, with the aim of promoting a discussion between experts and administrators on emerging environmental challenges in the Italian regional capitals.
