DESCRIPTION:Fiera di Rimini\, 6 november   The management and protection o
 f the shorelines\, also in relation to current climate change\, is a strat
 egic issue for a country like Italy with about 7\,500 km of coastline\, fo
 r the conservation of coastal habitats\, ecosystems and  socio-economic d
 evelopment mainly to coastal and maritime tourism and to the European stra
 tegy of "Blue Growth".   Since some year the Italian Ministry of Environme
 nt\, in cooperation with ISPRA\, Italian Coastal Regions\, the District Au
 thorities\, the Scientific and Research Community\, has started a work-str
 ategy (the National Table on Coastal Erosion - TNEC) which takes into acco
 unt the Recommendation 2002/413 / EC on the Integrated Management of Coast
 al Zones and the GIZC Protocol for the Mediterranean (Barcelona Convention
 )\, to elaborate in a shared way an overall strategy for the protection an
 d management of Italian coasts.
