ISPRA participates to the technical group concerning pest animals in Rome

It was held on February 4 a meeting of the technical committee set up by the Municipality  of Rome on the pests animal.

The meeting, convened by the Commissioner  Mr. Tronca and coordinated by the Sub-Commissioner Mr. Camillo De Milato, was attended for ISPRA by Mr. Piero Genovesi, head of Wildlife Service.

During the debate  were faced  various issues related to the pest animals in Rome: starlings, pigeons, seagulls, rats and mouse, tiger mosquitoes and other insects.

Under the national standard (L.157 / 92) each  monitoring actions intervention of species of birds and mammals (with the exclusion of rats and mouse) requires a technical opinion of ISPRA, which provides support to a lot local, provincial and regional administrations to prevention and mitigate impacts caused by animals in urban areas.
