Renewed the bilateral arrangement between the Nuclear, Technological and Industrial Risk Department of ISPRA and the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN)

During the fall plenary meeting of WENRA (Western European Nuclear Regulatory Authorities), held in Rome on 26-27 October 2016, it was renewed the arrangement between the Nuclear, Technological and Industrial Risk Department of  ISPRA and the French Nuclear Safety Authority (ASN), to achieve bilateral cooperation on different issues related to nuclear safety.

The arrangement, signed by the Director General of ISPRA,  Stefano Laporta, and the President of the ASN, Pierre-Franck Chevet, aims to exchange and share operational experiences in the field of regulatory processes, with a specific reference to radioactive waste management activities and initiatives addressed to provide a correct information to the public.

Moreover, the arrangement refers to the system to ensure an early-notification and an effective information exchange between the nuclear emergency centers of both organizations in case of a nuclear accident. This in line with the task the Nuclear, Technological and Industrial Risk Department of  ISPRA has to perform under the national system of the civil protection.
