EcoForum. Circular economy business: rules, plants and products

Natura 2000 + 20: sea best practices. After 12 years since D.M 184/2007

The decree has strengthened in Italy the protection of the biodiversity of flora and fauna in the Special Conservation Areas (ZPC) and in the Special Protection Areas (SPA) and today it is fundamental for the protection of the valuable areas of the Mare Nostrum, aslo with the recognition of the most important Important Marine Areas.

The application of SSAM (Spatial Sustainable Assessment Model) in the local planning for sustainable development

Presentation of the IPBES report: links between biodiversity and pandemics

The new report that focus on biodiversity and pandemics of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) has been presented in streaming from Bonn. The report is the result of a seminar, organized in July where prestigious scientists convened from every part of the world. The report is a fundamental scientific contribution to help to better understand the new pandemics and to contrast them in the future. Ispra, for behalf of the Italian Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea, with three experts as a National Focal Point of IPBES, have edited the peer-reviewed the report.

Soil protection: conservation and renaturalization

As part of the Biennale Tecnologia event, organized by the Politecnico di Torino, the online event "In the future will we eat cement? soil protection: conservation and renaturalization" will be held on 13 November. The ISPRA 2019 report places Turin among the cities where land consumption has stopped. This is the demonstration that it is possible to reverse the dynamics in Italy, one of the largest consumers of soil in the world and provides indications for starting good practices of renaturalization of the territories that seem compromised.

Workshop of updating on the ecological status of the  Pinna nobilis  From 27 October to 1 November in Trieste there will be an exhibition on the largest mollusk in the Mediterranean, now at risk of extinction also in the Gulf of Trieste. In addition to the exhibition, a scientific workshop on 30 October in which scientists and scholars from the main bodies that are working on Pinna nobilis at local and national level will participate.  

Copernicus and the smart management of urban areas

An “Academy National Workshop” on Copernicus and the smart management of urban areas will be held in video conference on 18 and 19 November. The event, organized jointly by the Politecnico di Milano as a member of the European network "Copernicus Academy", the User Forum and the network of national Academies, and with the participation of representatives of the European Commission and executive agencies - ECMWF, JRC - in the whole of the Copernicus operational services component.

Agreement signed between ISPRA and Union Energy for Mobility-unem

Ispra and Unem have signed an agreement of cooperation to promote environmental sustainability and technology innovation in the sector of remediation and ecosystem requalification.  The collaborative activities will take place with the exchange of SNPA experiences and the oil sector for environmental sustainability, the joint experimentation in the field of new sampling or sustainable remediation technologies and common training activities on environmental protection.
