Started the second phase of the National Wolf Monitoring

In the meeting with the technicians involved in the project, the consolidation and data analysis activities for the coming months were illustrated

The ISPRA coordinators of the national monitoring of the wolf illustrated the lines of action of the project for the coming months.
In the second phase, once the activity of collecting the signs of the presence of the wolf on the Italian territory has been completed, it will be necessary to analyze the data from both a genetic and a statistical point of view.
In this context, the representatives of the ISPRA laboratories in Ozzano of Emilia  are doing the genotyping of the samples and the statisticians are checking the data collected in the national wolf database.

At the end of February 2022, the estimate of the abundance and distribution of the wolf on the national territory will be available based on a standardized protocol and a scientific statistical model elaborated by experts of the sector
