Soil consumption: the city of Rome loses ground at the rate of 100 hectares a year, as many as 150 football fields built every 365 days
The project Soil4life underlines how land consumption in Rome is advancing at the rate of 150 football fields every year (100 hectares a year). To counter the phenomenon, the Municipality is preparing a new plan for permeability and, together with ISPRA, a new charter for the entire municipal area.

The first User Meeting dedicated to users of the MesoHabitat Simulation Model (MesoHABSIM) methodology will be held online on 30 June 2021. The meeting aims to support interaction between the different users of the method and to discuss functionality, results and applications in different hydrological and geomorphological contexts. Interested parties can participate in the meeting with a personal contribution that describes a case study and / or an area of interest in applying the methodology.
Science together and the NET Project for the European Researchers' Night 2021.
A new edition of the European Researchers' Night is back, the European Commission's initiative to bring citizens closer to the world of research. Researchers from Scienza Insieme and the NET project will accompany the public with many events throughout the summer until the "Night" which this year will be held on Friday 24 September. The program of events "Waiting for the Night" offers scientific trekking, aperitifs with researchers, lectures-shows, workshops and activities for children and finally a meeting, on 8 and 9 September, with the Nobel Prize in Physics 2019 Michel Mayor.

On the occasion of the Ocean World Day (8 June), the team of Plastic Busters MPAs will go to the Marine Protected Area of Capo Milazzo to continue the investigation into the presence of the marine litter on the beaches. The activities had been suspended due to the blocks induced by COVID-19 and will finally resume from 8 to 10 June with this first summer expedition conducted jointly by the heads of the WAP of Capo Milazzo, experts from ISPRA, UNISI (University of Siena ), SZN (Anton Dohrn Zoological Station) and MIO-ECSDE (Mediterranean Information Office for the Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development).
