New Community regulation about state benefits for environmental conservation
Last spring’s
European Council session decided to reduce the greenhouse gases
emissions of the 20%, and to raise up to 20% on the total of EU
energy consumption the share of renewable energies whithin year
2020. In response to this appeal the Commission worked out a new
Community regulation about state benefits for environmental
conservation.
The above mentioned regulation will be effective until december
2014 in order to reach those results. State benefits can be granted
at single companies to reduce pollution and other negative effects
on the environment. They can also be used by member States to
produce national regulations which could be stricter than European
ones, in order to help companies hit by harder rules.
The scheduled benefits are of greater amount in comparison to the
ones of the previous regulation. The ones addressed to big
companies increased from 30-40% to 50-60%, while the ones for small
companies grew from 50-60% to 70-80%. In addition, if an investment
involves an ecologic innovation, improving the realization of
Community rules or the level of environmental conservation, it can
be granted a 10% further benefit.
