Common agricultural policy
Reached the agreement on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
On November 19 the Agriculture ministers of the EU, after
eighteen hours of negotiations, have reached agreement on "health
check" of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The agreement will have the effect of modernize, further simplify
and streamline the CAP, so farmers can respond more effectively to
the market and will be able to better face new challenges in
agriculture.
Main points of the agreement are the abolition of arable set-aside
and the gradual increase in milk quotas until their expiration in
2015.
