ISPRA obtained a prize for the best documentary

Med archives - the history of climate in a coral skeleton

 

The 5th Eastern Mediterranean International Underwater Photograpy & Film Festival was held in Famagusta, North Cyprus, on March 19, 20 and 21.
48 films from around the world partecipated to the competition. Presented in world preview, the documentary "Med archives - the history of climate in a coral skeleton", directed by Mark Pisapia and produced by ISPRA, was awarded in the category "Best Documentary".
The jury composed of professors and university researchers appreciated particularly the combination of exciting images and content of high scientific level.
The documentary is part of the series "Memories of the Mediterranean climate", just published in the journal "Coastal Studies". The film shows how an international team of researchers, led by ISPRApaleoclimatologists, discovered a new natural archive in a coral, able to describe changes in the temperature of the Mediterranean Sea in the lats two centuries.
