Environment: agreement signed in Teheran, start the cooperation between Italy and the Gulf Countries

Agreement signed ECO-IEST / ISPRA for the environmental cooperation. Mr Galletti: Italy fundamental with its scientific excellence toward Paris in 2015.

It was signed in Tehran, after the input of the Minister of Environment Mr. Gian Luca Galletti and at the presence of the Italian Ambassador Mr. Mauro Conciatori, a Memorandum for environmental cooperation between ISPRA and the Intergovernmental Institute of Science and Environmental Technology ECO-IEST, located in Teheran  and which includes Ten countries of the Caspian-Persian Gulf –Caucasus areas.

The document, signed by ISPRA General Director Mr. Stefano Laporta, formalizes the availability for possible future cooperation between the 2 Countries, above all on biodiversity protection of the marine environment from pollution hazards.

ISPRA will provide skills and competencies in the identification of the hydrocarbons still contained in the wreck, in research and removing of explosives  that could be still present on the seabed, in the dredging and disposal of contaminated sediments, according to the innovative technical standards accepted at international level .

The whole activities were already predefined last 25 November when the Minister Mr. Galletti and the Vice President and Head of Environment  Department Mrs. Masoumeh Ebtekar had signed a document to start the cooperation between Italy and Iran to promote interchange technology and knowledge concering environmental matters.
