Italian Geosites Inventory

The Italian Geosites Inventory contains information on “geosites” of geological, naturalistic and geoarcheological interest, collected by ISPRA since 2002. Information is georeferenced and available to consultation; actions like storage, management, analysis and display of the data are also available. The geodatabase requires users to be registered to a restricted area in order to access and query the db both through textual searches (Geosite search) and/or geographic (Geosite map). Textual searches can be carried out on most of the information contained in the Inventory. Geographical search allows to locate geosites on the map and related information. New geosites reporting can be made by sending a PDF sheet together with a detailed description, photos, location and all other available information useful to the elaboration of the site. The database can be consulted with ISPRA viewer, with Geomapviewer and is available as OGC service.

ReMI

The National Network of Parks and Mining Museums (ReMi), coordinated by ISPRA with the collaboration of AIPAI (National Association for Industrial Archaeological Heritage), aims at  enhancing the dismissed national mining heritage and proposing solutions to the regulatory issue of setting up safety, reconversion and enhancement of the sites, together with Regions and Local Authorities. To date, the network counts 41 members and 55 mining sites. Data contained in the Re.Mi. database includes information of the mining site (name and location), list of extracted minerals, references of the eventual mining Park (registered office, website, etc.). The database can be consulted with ISPRA viewer, with Geomapviewer and is available as OGC service.
