DESCRIPTION:The 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Conve
 ntion on Biological Diversity (  CBD COP17  ) will take place in Yerevan\,
  Armenia\, from 19 to 30 October 2026. Under the theme  “Taking Action f
 or Nature” \, COP17 will review global progress in implementing the   Ku
 nming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF)  \, adopted in 2022. 
      The Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework commits signatory 
 countries to protecting 30% of the planet’s land and 30% of its marine a
 reas by 2030.     The conference will take place at a crucial stage in the
  implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMG
 BF). Since the Framework was adopted in 2022\, countries will jointly asse
 ss progress towards its 23 targets for the first time\, shifting the focus
  from commitments to tangible results and evaluating which agreed actions 
 have actually been implemented.
