The SETAC Italian Language Branch serves as a forum for discussion, exchange of ideas, and dialogue among research institutions, environmental authorities, and the private sector, promoting the application of scientific knowledge to environmental policy.
The local organizing committee for this year’s conference is the result of collaboration among the University of Padua, the Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn, and ISPRA, reflecting the presence of these three institutions in the lagoon city of Chioggia. ISPRA has also been involved since the very first editions in both the Workshop Scientific Committee and the Scientific Council of the SETAC Italian Language Branch (SETAC ILB).
The deadline for abstract submission is 8 June. Registration for the workshop — which is free of charge — will open on 20 July, with priority given to participants presenting a contribution (poster or oral presentation). The workshop topics, described in the flyer, are aligned with those of Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (for more information: SETAC).
A Best Young Italian Scientist Award will also be presented, consisting of free registration for the next SETAC Europe Annual Meeting. The award is intended for PhD students, who may apply by submitting an extended abstract no later than 8 June. For the final evaluation, candidates will also be required to present their work during the workshop through a 3–5 minute pitch presentation.
