DESCRIPTION:ISPRA and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission
  (JRC) have signed a memorandum of understanding\, valid until 2029 and al
 ready operational\, to renew and strengthen collaboration on common topics
  in the fields of research and environmental protection.   There is alread
 y scientific cooperation between the two institutions in various areas\, s
 uch as chemical accidents\, the EU Ecolabel\, the maintenance and implemen
 tation of INSPIRE (INfrastructure for SPatial InfoRmation in Europe)—the
  European Directive that ensures that spatial data infrastructures of all 
 Member States are compatible and usable in a Pan-European context\, facili
 tating the search for spatial data via the web.
