DESCRIPTION:In 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Arp
 a Piemonte.   The story begins with the 1993 referendum\, when Italian cit
 izens decided that environmental controls should be entrusted to a specifi
 c system of prevention and protection\, separate from the healthcare secto
 r. This was followed by the founding law in 1995 and the establishment of 
 Arpa Piemonte on August 1\, 1996.   Subsequently\, in 2002\, the Agency wa
 s assigned responsibilities for the forecasting and prevention of natural 
 risks\, and more recently\, the creation of the National System for Enviro
 nmental Protection (SNPA) in 2016.
