Environmental Indicators Database: First 2026 Update Now Available

ISPRA has released the first 2026 update of more than 80 indicators in the Environmental Indicators Database, providing a timely, robust, and up-to-date assessment of the state of the environment in Italy.

What Can You Find in the Environmental Indicators Database?

  • More than 300 indicators, organised into 40 environmental themes, covering topics such as air, water, waste, biodiversity, climate, soil, and resource consumption.

  • Up-to-date status and trend assessments: each indicator includes concise and reliable evaluations of current conditions and recent developments.

  • Thematic aggregations: dedicated sections on the circular economy, climate change, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and other cross-cutting topics.

  • A dynamic dashboard featuring interactive charts, maps, territorial comparisons, historical time series, and comparative analysis tools.

A long-established environmental reporting tool developed by ISPRA, the Environmental Indicators Database is aligned with official statistical standards and is also available in English.
