Hydromorphological Assessment System, Analysis and Monitoring of Watercourses – IDRAIM

12th National Training Course

ISPRA, with the support of ARPA Piemonte, is organizing the twelfth training course on the assessment of the Morphological Quality Index (MQI) of watercourses, as provided within the IDRAIM system. The course will be held in Turin, at the ARPA Piemonte headquarters, during the week of June 8–12, 2026, and will include alternating classroom instruction and field visits to demonstration river reaches for the application of the method.

The course will take place if the minimum number of 20 participants is reached. Participation requires the payment of a registration fee to cover direct expenses and coffee breaks at the ARPA Piemonte headquarters. Travel expenses (transportation, meals, and accommodation) will be borne by the participants

Required Competencies

A good knowledge of fluvial geomorphology is required to apply the morphological assessment methodology. The professional profile traditionally considered most suitable is that of a geologist, or other professionals with solid knowledge of fluvial geomorphology, such as engineers, foresters, and natural scientists. However, the course is also open to other related professional profiles, subject to evaluation of prior experience as reported in the curriculum vitae.

Registration Procedures

Registration for the course, to be completed by 20 April  2026, must be carried out using the registration form and also requires sending a curriculum vitae to the email address idromorfologia@isprambiente.it.

The organization will communicate the results of the selection process to applicants by April 30, 2026, via email to the addresses indicated in the registration form.

Following notification of admission to the course, participants must proceed with payment of the registration fee according to the instructions that will be provided in the same admission communication.

The final course program will be published in the coming weeks.
