Inauguration of the Newly Appointed President of the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee

On 23 February, Prof. Armando Masucci was officially appointed President of the Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee by decree of the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Hon. Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, in agreement with the Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Sen. Adolfo Urso.

The new President of the Committee (also of the related EU Ecolabel Section) succeeds lawyer Francesca Mariotti, recently appointed President of ENEA.

Prof. Masucci, a medical doctor and lawyer, has held important positions both in the healthcare sector and in public administration as Director General/Health Director. He also served as Commissioner at the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security within the PNRR–PNIEC Commission, acting as a reference point for photovoltaics and renewable energy.

The Ecolabel and Ecoaudit Committee, established in Italy by Ministerial Decree No. 413 of 2 August 1995, with the technical, logistical and operational support of ISPRA, is responsible for awarding the EU Ecolabel ecological quality label, accrediting and supervising individual environmental verifiers, and granting EMAS registrations and renewals in accordance with the EMAS Regulation
