  established by the United Nations to celebrate Biodiversity. The purpose
  of the celebration is to highlight the multiple values ​​of biodivers
 ity\, underline the importance of the United Nations  Convention on Biolog
 ical Diversity  (CBD) and to promote support for its implementation\, toge
 ther with that of the Cartagena Protocol (which aims to help ensure an ade
 quate level of protection in the field of safe transfer\, handling and use
  of Living Modified Organisms) and that of the Nagoya Protocol on Access t
 o Genetic Resources and the Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from the
 ir Utilization.
