DESCRIPTION:The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction  is celebrat
 ed on October 13. The day was established by the United Nations General As
 sembly in 1989. The objective of establishing this day is to send an impor
 tant message to the governments of all countries around the world\, as wel
 l as to international organizations and the global population\, to reflect
  on the ever-increasing frequency and severity of natural disasters.   Amo
 ng the institutional tasks of ISPRA is the collection\, processing\, and d
 issemination of maps and data on hydrogeological instability for the entir
 e national territory\, making them available to the country for risk preve
 ntion and mitigation.
