ISPRA meets with a Chinese delegation from the Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Center
On April 20, at the headquarters of ECCO—an independent Italian think tank on climate and energy transition—ISPRA met with a Chinese delegation from the Land Consolidation and Rehabilitation Center (LCRC), an institute of the Chinese Ministry of Natural Resources that focuses on land reclamation, redevelopment, and soil management.
The visit was organized as part of the EU-CHINA Think Tank engagement on green governance project, funded by the European Union, which promotes dialogue between European and Chinese think tanks on green governance. Alongside researchers from the LCRC Institute, representatives from Chinese think tanks, such as the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, were also present.
ISPRA participated in the Round Table discussions with an expert from the Italian Geological Survey, presenting its institutional monitoring and control activities on environmental matrices and its technical and legislative support to the Ministry of the Environment and the regions through the SNPA network. The focus was on protecting natural and cultural heritage from natural hazards, both in coastal marine and inland areas. Representatives from Italian universities and think tanks also attended the discussions on the Italian side.
The Chinese delegation expressed strong interest in future collaborations with the Institute.
