Issue 42 of RETICULA is now online
Issue 42 of RETICULA is now available online, the ISPRA technical and scientific journal dedicated to ecological connectivity, green infrastructure, and spatial and landscape planning.
The editorial opens with a reflection on wind power repowering and the upgrading of already developed sites, identified as important steps in the energy transition process.
This issue also features an in-depth look at the path towards the National Ecological Network: from the 2003 APAT Guidelines on Ecological Networks in Italy’s Regions and Autonomous Provinces to ISPRA Report 423/2025, the article explores the evolution of ecological networks and their role in implementing the National Biodiversity Strategy to 2030.
A further article focuses on the characteristic elements of agricultural landscapes (ECPs), for which the European Union has set ambitious restoration targets. The study presents a place-based methodology tested to identify, quantify and assess ECPs at both regional and local scales.
The issue also features a survey of macrofungi across Italy, with a focus on the Mushroom Information System (SIF) of the ISPRA geoportal and its centralised structure, which makes information and data on fungal monitoring available.
The issue concludes with a news section featuring updates, initiatives and events dedicated to biodiversity, taking place both across Italy and internationally
