The new web site www.copernicus-italia.it dedicated to national activities in the context of the developments of the European Copernicus Earth Observation Program is online, providing complete, free and open access to data and information deriving from the integration of satellite data with in situ data and forecast models.
The Copernicus Italia portal offers updated information for institutions, research bodies, businesses and citizens interested in observing the Earth from space. The different sections allow you to have an overview of the governance and the value chain generated at a national level by Copernicus services, to access in-depth information on the activities of the national thematic tables and to be updated on activities and events dedicated to the scientific and commercial community.
The portal is an expression of the National Copernicus Users Forum, a tool of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to coordinate user needs in order to encourage the use of Earth observation data, products and information, define the development priorities of national monitoring services and to influence the evolution of Copernicus. The Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research supports the developments of the Forum and the management of its various communication channels.
Through the new portal, the Forum aims to spread the use of Earth observation data and products by creating a point of reference and exchange with the entire world of national users.
