DESCRIPTION:The initiative  to establish a Science-Policy Panel (SPP) \, d
 edicated to the sound management of chemicals and waste and the prevention
  of pollution\, was launched on the basis of  UNEA (United Nations Environ
 ment Assembly) resolution 5/8 \, adopted on 2 March 2022. This resolution 
 established the need to establish an intergovernmental group to further co
 ntribute to the sustainable management of chemicals and waste and to preve
 nt pollution globally.
