On-line the new environmental indicators data base ISPRA

An effective tool to understand the state of the environment in Italy
Developed with a view to improvement, to face increasingly pressing environmental challenges and to satisfy new knowledge needs, including future scenarios, the ISPRA environmental indicators database disseminates detailed statistical information in a dynamic and timely manner characterized by a high scientific solidity.

Organized into 38 environmental themes, with over 300 indicators that make up the ISPRA core set, it is the most complete collection of statistical data and information on the state of the environment in Italy created and managed by the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA ) with the contributions of the regional agencies and autonomous provinces within the National System for the Protection of the Environment (SNPA).
The indicators classified in Environmental Themes are structured in sheets containing descriptive information (metadata) such as, for example, the objectives to be achieved, the assessment of the state, the trend and data represented with graphs, tables and maps.
The database of environmental indicators not only provides a snapshot of the state of the environment in Italy, until now clearly reported by the Environmental Data Yearbook, but marks a further development, becoming more effective in responding to both specific regulatory obligations and requests coming from national and international bodies and to the demand for information from citizens.
