Data that makes a difference: synergies and standard monitoring protocols for protected area management

The rapid decline in global biodiversity requires the availability of reliable and comparable data, collected through standardized monitoring methods, capable of providing effective support for land management policies at various scales. In this context, it is essential that biodiversity data collection be aimed not only at knowledge generation, but also at assessing the effectiveness of management and conservation measures.

The Monograph collects experiences, conducted in protected areas, of structured collaboration between institutions in the implementation of shared monitoring protocols, the results of which are applied to conservation actions. The goal is to promote replicable examples of effective and coordinated biodiversity management and conservation in the face of growing global threats.
