DESCRIPTION:Pollination is a fundamental process for the survival of ecosy
stems. Nearly 90% of the world's wild flowering plant species depend entir
ely\, or at least in part\, on animal pollination\, along with more than 7
5% of the world's food crops and 35% of global agricultural land. Pollinat
ors are essential for conserving biodiversity. In order to raise awarene
ss about the importance of pollinators\, the threats they face and their c
ontribution to sustainable development\, the UN has designated 20 May   W
orld Bee Day . The goal is to strengthen measures to protect bees and ot
her pollinators\, which would significantly contribute to solving global f
ood supply problems and eliminating hunger in developing countries. "Bee
engaged with youth" is the theme chosen for the 2024 Day. This theme hig
hlights the importance of involving young people in beekeeping and pollina
tor conservation efforts\, recognizing them as future custodians of our en
vironment. ISPRA pubblication concerning pollinators: Plants an
