Reports

The first report on the contaminated sites management at regional level is a result of the cooperation between SNPA and Regions/Autonomous Provinces and provides an overview of the existing information and the analysis of the available data at present.

The Report is the result of a complex activity of data collection, analysis and processing by the National Center for Waste and Circular Economy of ISPRA, in implementation of a specific institutional task provided for by art. 189 of Legislative Decree no. 152/2006.

The Report describes the status of the presence of the main allergenic pollens and the Alternaria spore in Italy in 2019 and their air concentration trends, measured, from 2010 to 2019, by the monitoring stations of the POLLnet-SNPA network and by the Aerobiological Monitoring Center of Tor Vergata (Rome).

The Report provides information on the presence of residues of plant protection products in surface water and groundwater. The 2017-2018 monitoring results are presented in terms of the recovery frequency and concentrations distribution, the levels of contamination obtained by comparison with the environmental quality standards are assessed. The trend of contamination is analyzed and the most critical substances and the phenomenon of poly-exposure are examined. Finally, the regulatory framework is placed in relation to the need to reduce impacts on the environment.

The current legislation on the classification and assessment of the quality status of coastal marine environments (EU Water Framework Directive 2000/60 /EC) identifies the macrozoobenthic communities as indicator (Biological Quality Element) to be used for the classification of the ecological status of these environments.

The Edition 2020 of the Municipal Waste Report provides data (reference year 2019) concerning municipal waste generation, separate collection and management at national, regional and provincial level as well as data on import/export of municipal waste. Furthermore, data on packaging waste management, costs of the municipal waste management service and tariff scheme implementation in 2019 are reported.  

The activities in application of the precautionary principle and the prevention of environmental effects The Report describes the activities carried out by ISPRA in the two-year period 2018-2019 in the context of requests for support received from the MATTM regarding the prevention of environmental risk. .

The Report on Waste from Economic Activities, now in its nineteenth edition, is the result of a complex activity of collection, analysis and processing of data by the National Centre for Waste Circular Economy of ISPRA, with the contribution of regional and provincial Environmental Protection Agencies, that implements a specific task required by article 189, d.lgs. n. 152 of 3th April 2006.
